There are quite a few PREAMPLIFIERS whose designs I really love ..

Audio Research: I've always loved their lab instrument look, both older and newer models

I like the vintage McIntosh but not the newer models

The Yamaha C1 wasn't so gorgeous but what a beast!

I love design of the Brüel & Kjær sound and vibration laboratory equipment. I had a chance to work with their stuff. Mostly vintage by today standards, but it still worked perfectly. Simplicity, unique color that might look ugly at first glance, wooden case, feel and feedback of rotary knobs, warm incandescent bulb back light, perfectly clear and readable markings. Working with it was simply a joy. They used to be kings of audio measurements, way before Audio Precision ;) Now Brüel & Kjær is focusing on slightly different market.

I used this kit every day back in my first job.
I love the colour and the quality. Their transducers were sota too.
Their work on audio requirements for LPs is still up to date today over 50 years later.

Two italian motorcycles:

Ducati Monster - my favorite naked streetbike and IMO the best implementation of using the engine as part of the frame. And technically it's music because that engine and dry clutch make a glorious noise.

Moto Guzzi Griso - sadly no longer made but was probably the first bike I ever saw that made me just stop in my tracks.

I like the sound of the older bevel gear driven camshaft Desmos of 40 years ago, but the styling has got much better since :)

Corbusier's LC4 chaise longue. We have a replica at home (would love to get a vintage Cassina specimen). So incredibly comfortable and easy to clean. I think the sterility of the palette is offset by the curvy shape and contrast in textures. It is one of the rare cases where I find the monochrome best suits it. The fancy natural cowhide ones never quite did it for me. In some rooms it might scream psychiatric practice though.

Is favourite transducer a category lol? This is the Celestion MF500 3” dome midrange, developed in (I think) ‘66 for their flagship Ditton 66 floorstander:

To give an idea of the size of these things, here they are on the baffle (those are 12” woofers below them):

Anyone have experience with the Vitsoe shelves and chairs/sofas in their homes?

I am weighing getting a sofa for the living room and some shelves for the listening room.

(Odd that they left the stickers on that Brother printer/scanner/fax for this website photo.)
