Paris Audio Video Show 2022

Main 3.jpg

Hey folks,

It has been one year already, since
my last report of the Paris Audio Video Show. Like it is often the case, there were many ways to get free entrance for the Paris Audio Video Show 2022, which was a good reason, among others, to come back. This year, the event took place on November 5-6th in the Palais des Congrès. I have been there on Saturday 5th, and had the pleasure to meet again a few ASR fellows (@SubOjectivist, @K0RnY, @biglebowski) as well as friends from the Dealabs community (@Ultravare, @Augde716, @Sabug). This edition in particular was very different from the last one with, fortunately, all exhibitors in the same building. There was also quite an impressive affluence (they announced a total of about 11,000 visitors) and as a result, most rooms were overcrowded. To state the obvious: listening conditions were far from ideal. That being said, I will eventually add some of my detailed impressions later. For now, I will only focus on pics and legend with a simple photo tour. The vast majority of pictures are mine, but both @K0RnY and @Ultravare have kindly volunteered to share some of their shots that I could have missed.

Very nice photos - thanks for sharing.
I feel ever so divided. On one hand I want to be there in person. On other hand I don't want to - too much temptation. Sometimes ignorance is truly a bliss.

You don't see power conditioners even though the audio and computer equipment is drawing power from an electrical distribution line(s) in a busy hotel and conference center. There is presumably zero credibility for power conditioners among the audio professionals. If PSB had a display did they show a power conditioner? It looks like these days that the gold standard for signal source is digital and not turntable analogue.

Part 3/3 is online.

Thank for detailed report. I know it is a ton of work to take pictures, sort and publish them this way. Much appreciated!
Thank you for the pin, @amirm! :) Yes, it's absolutely time-consuming to chose dozens of "acceptable", over hundreds of missed shots.

Did you have any time to demo any ?
Yep, fortunately quite a few ! (spoilers: most sounded not great, not to mention I've found zero correlation between price and preference). As said, I will add my impressions later. ;)

Did you get to audition the Klipsch Jubilee?
Sure I did !

How many rooms did they had at the show?
Dozens and dozens. Did not count. But it was virtually impossible to visit all, even during one full day (we stayed from the opening at 10:00 to about 19:30)
11.000 that is A LOT of people ..
It's precisely 10876 entries, including the November 7th, for press and professionals :
PAVS-2022-CP-bilan_3.jpg

Very nice pictures, did you use a smartphone or a camera?
Google Pixel 7.

Awesome, can’t wait to read about your experience and impressions. Many of those speakers are worth more than my house!
