March Audio Sointuva AWG Bookshelf Speaker Review by ERIN's Audio Corner

Purifi datasheet is the exception, nothing to learn from peer review. Reading your comment, my doubt was from the tweeter to be able to handle low crossover (1.4khz) and I do not trust SBA datasheet as purifi's. My opinion from hificompass distortion and IMD is yes but I understand your point.

March Audio Sointuva AWG Bookshelf Speaker Review by ERIN's Audio Corner

Both drivers (8 inch purifi and satori WG) have been measured by hificompass. Looking at the data, I would say that this combo is pushing (reaching) the limit but do not exceed it. Let's hope Erin could review the tower one day but a crossover around 1400hz (LR4) seems a good start with a good...

PURIFI finally did a fully purified passive speaker design! The SPK 16 prototype is here - with a PTT tweeter

I suppose if it will not change the conclusion but to estimate maximum SPL at low frequency, the Xmax of the woofer must also be considered. For instance, attached is the maximum SPL of purifi driver (1m 2pi). Add baffle step compensation and it's even less, but add potential room gain and it's...

Great DIY speaker builds (for newbies) to learn about design?

Maybe I didn't well understand what you were looking for (my english is... perfectible) . If it a easy open source design of a great speaker that someone can build like a cooking recipe, I have some ideas. But I thought your goal was to share projects from DIY skilled designers with rules of...

Between 70° and 75° but not 90°. That is still very impressive. Mabat and fluid simulation in DIYaudio are also promising (around 60° to 65°) but need to be confirmed empirically (which have already been done with other simulations from mabat so I am confident)

    Hypex DIY Preamplifier Kit Review

Maybe they will improve and update it for this preamp but there are a lot of documentation about Fusion implemented in their plate-amp: https://www.hypex.nl/product/hypex-filter-design/17

Kef blade 2 meta frequency response

Thanks for this clear and detailed explanation.

Kef blade 2 meta frequency response

OK but why dont they try to improve their measurement method or presentation to stop this confusion ? As is, speaker comparison in the bass region seem irrelevant, hence I guess they should not show it or a least with a dot curve.

IK Multimedia iLoud Precision MTM Spinorama

I agree. Thats why I mentioned "specific". I expect people buying these kind of speaker knowing that. Maybe I am wrong but I guess its targeting pro working 95% alone nearfield. Adjusting seat height to speaker on axis position before a listening session on someone else working desk is not...

IK Multimedia iLoud Precision MTM Spinorama

It seems pretty obvious that this speaker target is advanced people listening nearfield and on axis and probably with a desk. In this specific use case I think the narrow vertical directivity is more an pro that a con.
