These speakers excel in the PAF (Partner Acceptance Factor). They are beautiful speakers in person. They also sound great when sitting below the tweeter level - the dip is mostly in vertical. The wide horizontal directivity sounds awesome.

Vertical directivity looks much better on the cheaper JBLs (and probably matters more outdoors where one is moving around relative to the speaker) than on the Focals.

Given the vertical directivity, would one of these speakers be good placed horizontally (i.e. as a center channel)?

They work flawlessly on Airplay 2 which is very much current wifi tech and the easiest multi-room audio for iOS world.
