Should an amplifier (NAD M33) be completely silent?

Hello, As I said before my example was not good, (like my English, I get help from deepl translation) The topic was NAD C298 vs NAD M33, you took the sentence out of context. I registered today to answer the initial question of the topic and help this person, I am not a forum specialist ...

Should an amplifier (NAD M33) be completely silent?

Hello, In fact my example was not good, I listened and compared the NAD C298 / NAD M33 I found the M33 was better (less rough, more musical) and I bought it. I wanted to say that I think that not all Purifi 1ET400A based implementations sound the same. But if you think otherwise, no problem...

Should an amplifier (NAD M33) be completely silent?

Note that a C298 does not sound at all like an M33 ;) The problem of the M33, although annoying is very easily corrected in the workshop, it's a shame to live with it.

The technician took less than 15 minutes to disassemble, repair, reassemble and test. It was free of charge, the only...

Should an amplifier (NAD M33) be completely silent?

The Nuprime are known for this breath, they sound good but I could not hear anything else... The NAD M33 is not the same, we are closer to a computer noise that buzzes. Since I came back on hybrid AB class with a tube input stage and for the moment all is well !

Should an amplifier (NAD M33) be completely silent?

In fact, the M33 is so quiet and with an excellent signal-to-noise ratio that you can hear a very slight bzzzzz when listening carefully. I was using Nuprime equipment, which had some hiss in the speakers... so I was aware of this kind of problem. A bit of paste in the right place...

Should an amplifier (NAD M33) be completely silent?

Hello, The NAD M33 is known to suffer from slight Coil whine problems. I had one and had to go through the service department. In fact they put some white paste on some parts of the power supply and since then no more problems.
