The physical format of DACs matter much more than the chips. Dongles have much more EE design compromises than desktop DACs that makes them less performant in pure SNR, for instance.

Even thin and cheap as hell RG58 which I use for marine RF installations only has -1dB attenuation per 100 feet @ 10 MHz. We are talking about nothing by the time we get down to 20KHz at single digit meter lengths.
