i use this when recording live concerts to stream with my phone via mixlr or sonobus. works fine for that as the streamed audio is generally low bitrate (192k or less). if there are dropped samples/clock issues they are inaudible

used this for several shows over the weekend in my concert recording rig
it was pretty seamless
in addition to the front panel mic inputs, i used an RME quadmic to fill up the 4 channels on the back with mics, and ran a separate 2-channel preamp to the TRS on the front
i was a little panicked...
for the $70 this costs save yourself some trouble and buy a used sony ICD-UX560 which eliminates the phone, runs forever, and has equivalent specs for stereo recording despite being only 16/44.1. i use mine regularly in low-profile recording situations with a small preamp or iem pack feeding it
got my unit today, it will do some desktop service but i am most interested in field recording

TBH, the 1L thinkcenter m910x i have has a fan but is equally as quiet.
heck even my SFF acer aspire 1660 is essentially silent - the 3.5" disk inside is louder than the single low rpm CPU fan in there
