    Emotiva RMC-1 AV Processor Review

Thanks. Addressing the first comment on that page: The signal is digital in nature as it is fed to AES input of the RMC-1. It is generated by the Audio Precision analyzer and NOT my computer. It would not be an issue for the PC to send it the same signal though as long as you bypass the...

I have not tested analog input if that is what you are asking.

I am. I already made a template out of it. By the way, a version of it has been there from start in IMD vs level. The presentation shows input digital value there but you can easily use it to compute the output voltage.

Danny Richie Audio Myths on “Electrical Burn In”

I saw them in private presentation at harman. Dr. Toole provides a summary in his book but not the measurements.

Only if it has a studio-approved copy protection system. Otherwise it has to have forced downsampling.

    Klipsch R-41M Bookshelf Speaker Review

I have too much to review as is. So it makes no sense for me to go and ask someone give me gear. That said, I made such a request recently and the outfit said they want to review and approve anything I test. Others say that they only care about listening test reviews. Some others make me...

Copy protection makes this complicated. Any protected video over HDMI must comply with HDCP rules with stipulates no unprotected digital audio link can carry audio over 16 bits or 48 kHz sampling (section 3.3.1.1). Since there is a lot of content with higher resolution than this, from...

I went through a lot of that with 1.7 version of the firmware. I must have rebooted the thing half a dozen time. Version 1.8 seemed to make the unit more robust. As I explained though, the measurements point to electronic design issues, not software.

What RT60 curves are preferred for domestic listening rooms?

One other thing to consider is that in western languages, the duration of combos of consonants and vowels lasts about 0.5 seconds. If your reverberations don't decay fast enough in time for the next combo of consonant and vowel, intelligibility can suffer. Conversely, if you absorb...

Schiit Freya S Preamplifier Review 2

Indeed. When I worked for Sony, they required destroying the electronics together with management certification. It was required for tax, import reasons, etc. Of course, that did not stop employees from going to the dumpster later and pulling out memory, CPUs, etc. out of computers...

Genelec 8341A SAM™ Studio Monitor Review

Nothing went wrong during the measurements. It was listening tests with music where the overload indicator came on together with severe distortion.

I tried that. It waits a couple of seconds and switches back to 2.0.

    Emotiva RMC-1 AV Processor Review

As I just explained, I am showing the performance across wide range of outputs now. This processor is actually not that sensitive to output voltage. To wit, at 1.5 volts SINAD drops 1 dB in Reference Stereo.
