Hello,
I have a Topping DX3 Pro.
I am looking a DAP with digital output which I can use with my DX3 Pro.
I have more than 20000 music which need 512Gb at least.
DX3 Pro not working with Android. I tried few phones, and an android box.
Price maximum 150-200 GBP
Could you recomend DAP please?

My Samsung Note 9 works well with RME.
I added 500GB Micro SD card to the massive 512GB internal memory.

Replace the Topping

I am looking a DAP to my DX3, not to buy all.
Android is not an option.

Based on the "Android is not an option" comment, this may be off base, but the Fiio M6 appears to be great value for money. I personally do not have one, but a gent I know through work bought one and was quite impressed. His is pushing a year old and he has not had any problems with it. Please note that the DAP uses a version of Android for the operating system.

There is the XDUOO X-10T II, but it only accepts a maximum of 256GB cards.
The DX3 Pro works without any problems via USB with Android, there are dozens of users who use it with it. With most players / telephones you need an OTG adapter / cable for USB, a cable or adapter normal does not work. But that has nothing to do with Android.
With SPDIF / Coax and optical there can be no problems anyway.

There are some good stationary players out there, but they are all above budget. The cheapest should be the Aune X5S, but it also contains a DAC.
The simplest and cheapest solution, which is also the least restricted, would be a Raspberry with Volumino or something similar, which also works via any interface.

Hi,
Most of the users connect with jack, or BT , this case doesn't matter android or not.
I need digital output.
I used OTG. I tried with original cable and Samsung GS8+ original OTG adapter.
And I bought an OTG cable /which do not need any adapter/.
Not working.
The DX3 Pro cannot recognise the device, like not connected .
How I wrote I tried more mobile and box too.
So Android not an option.
RPi don't know anything about it. It looks need knowledge.
I need a device with easy to use.

FiiO X 3 III (discontinued, can be found second hand market) if lucky stock clearance, old new stock
FiiO X5 II (discontinued, can be found second hand market places)
FiiO X 5 III (hard to find new, can be found second hand market), android interface, old new stock
FiiO X 7 II (discontinued, can be found second hand market) android interface
FiiO M series starting with M9 and above also have coax out, stricktly android interface.
When using coax out the interface is of no mather.

I can't say for the Topping.
But I connect my Note 9 through USB and it works flawlessly in 24 bits 192kHz with Qobuz app on rhe RME, as an example.
I really don't get why the Topping wouldn't work.

Sorry, but I have several Android players myself and they used to run them with a DX3 Pro via OTG, so there were never any problems.
In the DX3 Pro there is also a standard XMOS chip, as in most devices. Maybe the DX3 Pro has a problem too.

It will be difficult to find a player in this price range that does not have Android. Which manufacturer could or would program its own operating system for a player? But even if you don't see it, it's mostly there.
As I said, I only know the XDUOO X-10T II in this price range, but since the player has an INGENIC X1000 processor, Android / Linux will also be on it.

All Fiio X models have Android as the operating system (only with the X1 1st gen, I'm not sure).
The FiiO X 5 III and 7 II both have a coax interface (adapter via line-out) and can both use 2 microsd cards with 256GB each at the same time.

Yes, it have Android, but with coax doesn't matter.
But I cannot see where is the coax out on X5 III

Where is the coax out?

X5 III has shared coax/line out
You have two card slots, each capable of 1 T.
I have tested 512 gb cards in the X5 III with no problem

Hello,
The X5 gone :( Somebody was faster.
I didn't found any Fiio in price /only new/
So I have to buy Raspberry Pi.

I buy:
- RPi 4 B+ 8Gb version /because I can use for more things if I don't like as DAP/
- adapter
- hdmi
- sd card

OS:
- moodaudio
- volumino
- rune 9 /not working with RPi4/

I don't have wifi, so phone control not an option
Which OS working with hdmi?
I am thinking about the small TFT for RPi4 /can buy on raspberry site/ is it working with one of those OS?

So my question:
Which audio player OS working with HDMI and which one working with RPi4 small TFT ?
Am I thinking right, or do I need anything?

Check mine out. To use it as a music server/streamer, you don't need the 8GB Pi. Mine is the 2GB model and works flawlessly.

Yes, I love it, this is what I need.
- I buy 8Gb version, because I can use else, only swap sd card
I am thinking the fixed version case.

Does the 7 inch need extra power? /extra adaptor, or cable/?
Nope. I'm using the official power brick and it is enough for the Pi + screen + HDD powered over the Pi's USB
