stupid question but why his HD 800s EQ is so different than that oratory1990 ?
Thanks for the question.
I think it's best that you post in the Sennheiser HD800S thread instead, as more people will see it there.

That said, Amir's filters is what he thinks sounds best.
You're free to try others and see if you like them or not.

There's no right or wrong EQ...it's just a matter of preference.

i thought that oratory follow the IA prediction that is the pref curve for most people... maybe i'm naive haha

[Beginner's Guide] How to Setup Peace and Import a PEQ Profile:

In the video, I showed the following:
1. Installed Equalizer APO (ignore the error at the end, that's just because it's in a VM)
2. Installed Peace
3. Restarted
4. Opened Peace, set to 'advanced mode'
5. Went to settings, changed 'snap to db gain' from 0.5 to 0.1
6. Showed how many configurations/profiles are by default
7. Deleted all default configurations/profiles, to keep things clean
Specifically, I deleted *.peace from C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\
8. Went to ASR, to copy a PEQ profile
9. Created .TXT file and pasted PEQ profile
10. Imported PEQ profile to Peace
11. Cleanup, saved the configuration/profile
12. Showed how to view PEQ filters on a graph
13. Showed how to switch between different configurations/profiles

Overall, took 2.5min.

I know some of you are visual learners, so I hope that helps. :D

Good question. I don't know. I suppose so as it is the same fixture, test procedure, etc. But maybe an expert can correct me if there is something missing back then.

Improvements, thanks to @Matias

Glad to hear. I'm currently using Amir's PEQ profile as well, and enjoying the sound! :D
I stopped using all eq a couple of months ago and was satisfied (just a tiny edit around 8k to be safe) but this one is really good. I was using it all week and comparing, thinking it's just a trickery but it's really the best.

Improvements Added:

Are you using 'MathAudio Headphone EQ'?
If you're using MathAudio Headphone EQ, the software does the preamp gain adjustment automatically, in order to avoid audio clipping.
In other words, just enter the PEQ filters, and don't adjust any preamp gain.
You can tell this is true, by looking at the picture of a PEQ profile, where the highest filter (in the bass) is already at 0 dB.

Using Amir's headphone PEQ filters and the data provided by @sweetchaos in post #1 I created the presets for MathAudio for the 6XX and X2HR. Here they are for download.. Thanks for the work @amirm and @sweetchaos !

So just a noob question but is the equalizer apo instruction wrong by any chance?

I can't get any txt file to work if I open them from the File\Open path, but if I instead choose the txt file from the include menu in the config.txt file that the editor.exe opens automatically the eq seems to work just fine.

Improvements (based on zooz's feedback):

It's tricky, so I figure I'd show this on a video...
How to import these PEQ filters into Equalizer APO?
In the video I demonstrated:
1. Copied Amir's Equalizer APO profile for AKG 371 (from audiosciencereview.com)
2. On Desktop, created "akg k371 amir.txt" and pasted the contents
3. Copied the preamp text only, then created a 2nd file called "akg k371 flat with amirs preamp.txt", and pasted the contents
4. Saved both .txt files
5. Cut both .txt files
6. Navigated to "c:\program files\equalizer apo\config". Note: Equalizer Apo won't accept the .txt from another directory on your computer, so it must be in this directory.
7. Pasted both .txt files into the directory
8. Opened "Configuration Editor" (which opens "Equalizer APO Configuration Editor")
9. In the section called "Preamplification", clicked on "Remove" button. (It's not needed anymore)
10. In the section called "Graphic EQ", clicked on "Remove" button. (It's not needed anymore)
12. In the section called "Include", selected "browse" button, changed to "akg k371 amir.txt" (which will import this profile)
13. Selected Green "Plus" icon, to add another section, selected "Control", then "Include (include configuration file)"
14. Selected "browse" button, selected "akg k371 flat with amirs preamp.txt" (which will import this 2nd profile)
15. Once both profiles were imported, showed how to view the filters by selecting green "UP" arrow
16. Showed how to disable and enable one profile at a time.
Overall, took 1min.
I know some of you are visual learners, so I hope that helps. :D

Cool... I'll have to give it a try if it makes any difference to how it is working for me now.

I know it isn't audio science but I feel obligated to comment on this line "I know some of you are visual learners, so I hope that helps." Actually learning styles aren't a real thing, despite vast majority of people seem to believe so.

Not sure if this is the proper thread to inquire this but I'll ask anyway because after a quick google search I didn't find a straight answer and I am counting on you guys to know these kinds of things.
Have I understood corrrectly that with Audirvana I could use equalization with Tidal even when Exclusive Mode is engaged?

EDIT guess I was a bit hasty because right after I posted this I came across with this https://community.audirvana.com/t/eq-and-tidal-mqa/15928
and then I googled the same thing for Roon and this came up https://community.roonlabs.com/t/mqa-decoder-not-working-in-combination-with-procedural-eq/92843

So Roon should be the way to go if I want to eq MQA tracks on Tidal?

Improvements...

As an Android user who already uses the 'Wavelet' app, how can you import Amir's PEQ profiles?
You can't.
Amir provides parametric EQ profile, but Wavelet was built to use graphic EQ profile only.
To do this, you have to find an app that supports parametric EQ.
