I would imagine that using those cables would make the soundstage so clean that there is no sound at all to muck up the cleanness - just clean, etched silence. Like a veil had been lifted to reveal the deep black of nothingness.

...brings up the question of what sound system a high $$ rock band puts in when they buy a jet

Beolab 90 in dark wood and whatever is needed to connect my sources, CD and LP.
A full home theatre in the family room

I've seen the 90 and 18 in person... I think I saw the 50s one time when I was there (Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara) but I honestly don't 100% remember. The 90s look even more strange in person, imho. The 15s looked really cool. In pictures the 50s look amazing to me.... Yeah, I know the idea isn't for look, but speakers also don't have to be ugly (I'm looking at you powered studio monitors) and clearly can be beautiful when it is given as a design priority. I could see people liking the look of the 90, but I've never been a huge fan of the stretched stockings over wire frame speaker look. There are separate spaces for most brands there, with the B&O area being an even more prominent clearly separate space with what seemed like dedicated employees. I didn't want to bother them to listen to something I have no ability to buy.

Speakers, not sure. I'll have to think about it for a bit. :)

Humm ... ahh ... the possibilities :D

So an all-new and bigger listening room would be great, but assuming I've got what I have in the regard:
  • Speakers: Wilson Audio Sabrina
  • Power Amplifier: Pass Labs XA60.8 (pair)
  • Preamplifier: Audio Research Reference 6SE line stage
  • DAC: Matrix Audio X-SABRE Pro MQA Okto dac8 stereo DAC
  • Streamer: Windows 10 computer running Foobar2000
  • Music file storage: Synology DiskStation DS420j NAS with 4 x 6TB drives.

I would hire Thomas savage and Amir to play the harpsichord when I'm bored

I’m surprised that most would buy 2 channel systems even when costs don’t matter

I would go for
9BB2CC57-FD2D-4201-80A6-E8EF08FE1C15.jpeg

https://www.trinnov.com/altitude32/

And 17 pieces of https://dutchdutch.com/ connected digitally

For a 9.X.6 setup +Center height and VOG.
I am not yet decided how many subs I will need, I will have to think about this.

Alternatively for a larger room I might go for an all ME Geithain system based on the https://www.me-geithain.de/en/ml-811k1111.html

I might opt for a smaller Geithain for ceiling speakers.
I should be OK without subs, 9 speakers with 16 inches woofers with cardio bass should do the trick.

Nice !

Did you had the chance to listen to it (CanJam) ?

Yes. I swear you can hear every lip movement of the singer and the viscosity of their saliva.

I'd make a ring around me and above me of Genelec 8351b monitors all on w371 subwoofers in an anechoic chamber... Then buy plane tickets for JBL, Focal, Adam, Klipsch, and B&W engineers to come cry hopelessly at the fact that they've never even attempted something as incredible in the last decade or more.

I recently got a bonus, a promotion, had a birthday by myself (so sad!), and have been saving for quite awhile... so I really did kind of do a 'costs don't matter' splurge. Ended up getting a pair of Revel F228be and a pair of 226be to integrate into a 7.2 setup. The center channel is on back order. Also a new Denon AVR, a 6 channel Hypex nc502mp power amp, and an intel nuc. yikes! glad my stocks went up a bit to even out the dip a bit :) Still would love to find a better multichannel preamp...

I'd have Behringer's iNuke Boom sent to Amir for testing.
