Yes, it was Gary Koh's Genesis room. Was sitting there listening to music and decided to do a pull zoom handheld (changing zoom while the shot is being taken). This was the second of two shots. Amazing how stable it came out even though it is handheld. You can see a pretty nice image of the right channel speaker there.

Was walking toward the convention center on the last day and again I heard this unmistakable sound of a live band. Walked into the pavilion and it was Gibson's and a local young band was playing really nice music:

The movie Hidden Figures is making rounds and IBM had a suite outside of the main hall where they were showing a neat app where if you scanned a bargraph from one of the women, it would overlay a 3-D image of that person over the live video. You could rotate and all. Pretty cool one-off-project.

Comcast in US was showing much smaller and lower power settop box and wifi access point with somewhat better user interface than they have now to manage the latter:
Mine are cooking in the cabinet so getting the new ones would be a relief. The settop box is that little flat box to the left of the remote by the way and has all the functionality of the "X1" and even faster. The tall box to the left is the WiFi router/access point. The current box while hot has amazing range and bandwidth so if the new one does the same, it will be great. Roll out will take all of this year though.

Flir was showing their new generation IR camera that plugs into your phone. They fell way behind in this market but then made a good comeback. The plug-in device is neat because it has a normal video camera right next to the IR sensor so it can properly overlay the IR on top of video. It also has higher resolution of 160x120. Yes that is "high resolution." My $20,000 FLIR camera only has a 320x160 resolution!

The little plug-in Pro version came pretty close to the above though. That is a picture of us playing with the portable units by the way.

If you are wondering how I am able to take so many award worthy pictures at the show, here is my secret. I asked people to take a few pictures of me. Here are a couple:
It is an array of GoPro cameras in a panoramic configuration on my head so nothing escapes me!
The backpack is an innovation. Used to have to hire someone to run a cart behind me that housed the generator to power all of them. Now I am self-contained with Fuel Cell power.
