Phil Ward reviewed the 8Cs for Sound on Sound magazine, the full review isn’t available yet, However I do have a copy so if anyone wants to read it drop me a line,
This is Phil’s Summary,
Quote,
‘Reviewing monitors as capable as the 8C is
a joy. Leaving aside all their technical ability and engineering quality, at the end of the
day the result is fantastic monitoring and wonderful music. If you’re in the fortunate position of being able to afford the 8Cs, well, I’m envious.’

I don’t agree that the Kiis top end is more ‘expressive’ ( I have both speakers in the same room ,next to each other)I haven’t heard the Beolabs here ( yet) so won’t comment.
But all three are cracking loudspeakers the Beolabs are just seven times more expensive.

Kind of subjective, isn't it..?
Of course , what's to write otherwise?

The moral of the story is they are very good speakers , it's worth trying them out at home as they do differ in some ways so you might have a preference .

What would be nice is having the stereophile folks digging into perceived subjective differences in electronics and speakers and trying to discover if indeed these differences do exist and for what technical reason.

Much easier just to wax on and get paid though.

Sure. By intent. You could ignore it and just read the test results. I'm OK with that.

Oh, no - I read it. I don't mind reading subjective impresssions when they are accompanied by measuremens, and you guys at Stereophile did just that. I was actually pulling off Keith for not re-posting his mesaurements of those Hedd monster speakers. :D

Does anyone know the latency of 8c? Couldn´t find it from the manual...
How about the reliability issues? Have they been ironed out?

Approximately 32ms but there is a low latency mode. I discussed this extensively with Martijn Mensink before I bought, and it hasn't been an issue.

My sense is that reliability issues have been ironed out and that D&D is eager to resolve problems when they arise. I've had no problem since my first 2-3 months with the 8Cs.

There was a firmware bug but that has been fixed, in terms of hardware the only failure I have experienced was Jon’s cracked cabinet.

In the sound on sound they measured it as...
In the default ‘full fat’
mode that includes phase compensation,
the 8C in/out latency is around 30ms. In
low‑latency mode the in/out delay drops to
a perfectly manageable 3ms.

Phil Ward’s summation from his Dutch&Dutch 8Creview for Sound on Sound.
As with my experience of the Kii Three,
I quite soon began to forget about listening
to the 8Cs in ‘critic’ mode and just enjoyed
listening to numerous old favourites,
continually feeling inspired to dig out old
CDs and long forgotten sessions, and then
continually noticing things about them that
I’d not noticed before. Perhaps that’s all you
need to know.
£ £8995 per pair, including VAT.
