Yuck, now they're raping the poor amp with bass and treble controls.

Do you already have a picture of the circuit board?

Well... If you all send me a couple of bucks.. Not begging.. I would buy it, order it tomorrow in fact... tear it down... Get some pics going and then send it to Amir.

I agree with Roland here... I am not a fan of the tone controls, but, in and of itself it isn't a bad thing overall. If it keeps it clean. The lack of LDAC is a bit sad.

The big plus I see though is the "higher quality" caps... The new inductors and the 4 upgradeable op-amp slots. Although these sockets do look a bit close. So for those fans of larger discrete op-amps... This might be an issue. IC op-amp rolling won't be an issue though.

@AIYIMA

I have purchased this new A07 pro... I will contact @amirm and see if he wants to measure it. I will open the device and provide the community with pictures of the board. I am looking forward to see what improvements are there. Thanks for responding to the post.

Yesterday we have started to sell A07 Pro.
You also buy it on aliexpress, shopee and lazada.
Aliexpress A07 Pro link:
And we also have send the A07 pro to Amazon FBA(US, EU and JP) and Walmart (US), but it will take a month ship to Amazon/ Walmart.
300 Watts per channel. I have seen this claim. Please explain under what conditions this amp produces this power.

Aiyima has just shipped my A07 pro... The estimate is 17 days... Let's hope it is much sooner... I'm pretty sure that we folks here will have the first teardown pics... Not sure if Aiyima is sending one to Amir though... If not, I will most likely send this one in. I didn't buy it with a power supply though. I wasn't interested. I'm sure I have one of their bricks from all my other A07's

What's wrong with tone controls? I find them to be very useful and glad to see they are making a come back of sorts. The only reason they disappeard was because of a cynical cost saving scheme by some high end manufacturers.
I like them too, not all songs are mastered or sound the same. And no one is forcing you to use them...

Serious? No joke? You think that would have been austerity measures? Really funny.
Some manufacturers have a "Direct", Pure Direct", "Source Direct" or similar switch that bypasses all tone controls and disables them, and the other manufacturers are simply more consistent and puristic.
You couldn't even sell such devices in the high-quality range, because these tone controls have various disadvantages and a bad reputation, whether justified or not remains to be seen, but it's about phase shifting and superfluous components in the small signal path, among other things.

But there is no need to discuss it either, everyone should listen to music according to their taste.

Up until the late 70's, it was *perfectly* possible to sell high end products with tone controls and most of these could be bypassed to reduce noise a little and maybe (imagined or not?) subtly improve perceived sound quality, although I now believe this was more to do with slight level differences rather than the circuits themselves. Also, one or two rising stars of the UK high end scene weren't hugely competent as individual circuit designers (they were marketing and business experts though), using designs acquired from elsewhere and tweaking them to their own specialist needs. Back then, 'we sheep on the shop floor' had no idea about potential cost saving by leaving tone controls off the products and believed wholeheartedly in the entire *sounds better* scenario. I hold my hand up as I was one of the flat earthers back then!

PLEASE don't believe the high end bullsh*t which has become folk-lore in this goddamned industry. I fell for it in the 80's and it took a few live performances and exposure ot superior pro gear and speakers to bring me up short - and here I am thirty five years on, a grumpy older man :D

I do agree that a bass control can't really remove a boomy sloppy bass quality, just make it less evident and the best thing really is to try to fix the boom either in the speaker or more likely these days, the room.

I'm digressing well away from the thread topic for which I apologise. I'm sure this little amp may well benefit from having tone controls, as desktop speakers used with it may well suffer bass issues due to siting for example.

Nice Aiyima unit, of course I prefer the minimalist styling of the original A07. Will be interested to see how this does & how it measures. Seems competitive with the SMSL AO100 amp but with analogue rather than digital volume control and bass/treble adjustments.

I like having tone controls, but all I typically use for is to slightly punch both when playing at a very low volume. They are nice for that purpose. I appreciate more expensive amps or receivers that have the pure/direct bypass circuitry incorporated.

Was just using my old Onkyo TX-8511 this past week, doing so reminded me how much I like their "Selective Tone Control" button on that unit. They got the bass/treble punch just right, whatever they did. Not boomy, just a nice punch. Pleasant even when listening at normal levels.

Hi! According to the situation where you want to achieve 300W output power, it is recommended that you make the following changes: 1. Remove the case and increase the heat sink.
2. Add a heat exhaust fan to reduce the heat generated by the chip.
3. Try a 50V12V switching power supply, and the output can reach 300W under the condition of 10% distortion. The existing A07 and A07PRO of TPA3255 can use 48V10A power board, 4ohm 240W*2 distortion 10%.
Including all TPA3255 chips on the market, they cannot reach 300w*2. But we have designed the maximum optimal power. At present, we have developed a more suitable 36V6A power supply, which can reach 6ohm/100w.

Unless you're in China don't be too hopeful! It took more than 17 days, although UK customs played a big part in the delay. I also hoped a brick I already had would work... but the aiyima sat there doing nothing... According to the specs, and support, I needed more power. So now I'm waiting another month for the brick!... So, folks, check the specs, and bricks, carefully.

What voltage was your power supply?

It was the brick that came with my Nobsound NS-01-G pro amp Output 12V/5A. It seemed plenty of power for my light use, so I hoped it might work. I factored in that it might not - the nobsound is sounding pretty good with my Topping D10s dac - I can spend the time waiting for the aiyima brick in getting used to the nobsound/Topping combo, so I can hear (hopefully!) the aiyima improvement after plenty of experience. The lowest recommendation for the aiyima is 24V/5A. After watching a few videos, I decided to plump for 32V/5A, which is the brick it usually comes with.

Here's the delivery from China to UK - four days to get out of China and into the UK, 10 days+ stuck in the UK "transit office".
