How to activate the PrD function in this DAC ?
Remote works fine. The volume knob is also a button for menu selection
Make sure amp is turned down in volume because PrD is full level out of the DAC.
How to activate the PrD function in this DAC ?
Yes, answered aboveThat is, this function is located and activated in the menu of the Dac?
No problemHaven't bought this duck yet, so questions.
OK.
I'm more interested DSD direct of the Dac.
It is a pity that SMSL uses USB-C. Need to buy a cable UCB-A/UCB-C.
Windows 7 support has ended for these drivers. You can look for an older SMSL one like 4.13 but the latest driver can't install on your system. Windows 7 is really old.... (edit: 5.00 is the last supported driver! read below).View attachment 232964
I'm using Windows 7 and I'm having this pop noise with this SMSL D6 dac.
Try to install the new firmware but it shows this.
Any recommendation? thanks

Hi, have you tried to install the drivers with the DAC disconnected from the PC. Disconnect the DAC and then install!View attachment 232964

Last official XMOS drivers for Windows 7, 32 & 64 bit are v5.0.0 (XMOS_USBAudio_v5.0.0_2020-12-18_setup). Must be downloaded from SMSL site. Versions 5.3, 5.4, and 5.5 are Windows 10 (and probably 11) only.View attachment 232964

I‘m using the xmos 4.8ver firmware with windows 7 now.Last official XMOS drivers for Windows 7, 32 & 64 bit are v5.0.0 (XMOS_USBAudio_v5.0.0_2020-12-18_setup). Must be downloaded from SMSL site. Versions 5.3, 5.4, and 5.5 are Windows 10 (and probably 11) only.

Pop noise shows when sample rate change and few second after music stop.
Looks like I have to avoid using usb input on this dac.
Brilliant! carlcamper, you solved my D-6 pop noise problem.XMOS driver settings for no cutoff/delay
I was contemplating on creating a "tutorial" of sorts for all XMOS drivers on devices that have a cutoff -- latency between the start of a sound and the dac "reacting" and actually playing said sound... So here it is: XMOS drivers use a control panel not unlike this: Usually the "Options"...www.audiosciencereview.com
I right-click the graph and select the open image in a new window (perhaps this step is unnecessary however I just do it out of habit), then I save the image, open it in Photos app, and rotate it so it is vertical and finally right click, select resize image x2 or so and save over the original file. Every so often I'll repeat this to keep it current as new DACs are added to the collection of measured units. It is very nice when comparing a particular DAC against the others.I think we need a new way to dislpay the ranking. Even at full size, the device names are getting hard to read
I vote for a histogram!
Not a good idea as the 1/4" TRS output is differential and your Amp's input is single-ended. Better to stick to the RCA out.Sorry for asking a question, I just bought this dac, I have read that the trs output is 6.35mm but I can't find any cable to connect it to the rca input of my amplifier. At the moment I have it connected from rca to rca. Do you know if there is any cable trs 6,35 to rca? Thanks
Vertical should be better for phonesI think we need a new way to dislpay the ranking. Even at full size, the device names are getting hard to read
