Hello can someone tell me if my kef r3 is wired properly also how i can fine them them?

I attach picture, they have option for bi amp but i dont know how to use it...
i have home theater receiver from 80s or 90s rca victor jvc
old school model rx-e100. i dont think it can supply enough and clear power for them...

Even at volume of 30 these speakers are barely audible...
all of my setting bass treble etcs are at 000 please tell me if something is wrong with my set up grills are removed from my speakears and they are in front of my desk setted up..

they sound worse compared to my naim muso 2...

Most people told me here there will be day and night compared to these speakers vs naim, so far naim is far better in every possible condition.

Can the home theater receiver be the problem or ? i also made some small video about how these speakers sound if someone is interested.

To me speakers sounds like crap and very silent,,,
i also attached and made 1 video small one please listen to it....

50W should be plenty for the Kef’s I doubt that is the issue. I’m more inclined to think the receiver itself it the problem here. Did you use it before you hooked up the R3’s? Did that sound “normal”?

Also, what is your source? Surely this thing does not have an HDMI input.

Can't tell much from the video but why is it all mounted on a table top like that?

Don't worry about the bi-wiring/bi-amping terminals....you don't have the gear to use anyways plus its generally a waste of time/wire to passively bi-amp.

What is the volume control's range? The numbering doesn't mean much outside that particular receiver....

i dont understand anything at all from audio, at home please check out the video and pics, what settings i should check..
or modify? maximum volume for this receiver is 40 but at that level sound is extremely distorted.. so i dont use it that loud...

That receiver is almost 40 years old,
it can produce up to 70rms wats, receiver in the paste has been used with extremely small and tiny satellite speakers,
its 40 years old so it lacks HDMI.
no hdmi, i use currently AUX 3.5mm jack from my computer to jvc rca victor everything is inside the video... demo i made.

Is the computer volume at 100%? I see a MacBook in the video, can you try that one? Is it any different? Also keep the volume at max there.

Do you have any other amps around that you could try?

Hi Computer volume is at 100%
thats visible from the video , can you check it out please i uploaded it over youtube,
computer volume is at 100% but it was 100% with my naim muso 2 as well, so that makes no difference.
no mac book is the same same again aux...
no difference i tried...

i dont have any other amplifiers unfortunately.
i also keep my computer volume or laptop at maximum and i control other volume from the amplifier it self.
too bad no other new or old amps so i test it out .
i dont know how much 70w rms are in reality made in year 1980s or 90s ?

70w is 70w, also in the 80’s. The amp btw, is “only” about 21 years old. The model is from about 2001 ;) The input sensitivity is 180 mV, so should be fine.

BTW, the volume you show in the video is from the player application, not the OS mixer volume. So check that as well.

Also check that input attenuation is disabled:

Its not real 70w

its RMS, fake ones my car class d amp its shows 400w rms, but real wattage i way less than 50w i guess...

The volume i show on the video is from amplifier it self its currently on 30 volume, its also written vol and number... in operation system mixer volume is also at 100%, can you clarify whats that ? input attenuation ?
The manual you have provided is for the newer version mine is rx-e100 :)
newer model is 21 years old newer :) ) i checked this manual all my speakers are balanced perfectly...

You think they made almost the same thing for 20 years?

… more importantly, the manual is for your exact model:

This is your photo ;)

Please check the exact manual page I linked! From display it looks like it’s disabled (as it should be), but you never know.

I did try the video. May not be settings. Could be partially your placement of the speakers, tho. They should be farther apart and preferably on stands. Could be your old receiver isn't up to the task, hard to know unless it's bench tested (or the basis of the original rating, but IIRC that was 70 wpc full band at .1% ?).

EDIT: Removed image, You have a JVC RX-E100ES not a Yamaha RX-E100.

I don't think there is much fixing this. I think you'll need to replace the AVR.

The KEF's have a sensitivity of 86dB and the RX-E100 probably only puts out half of what they promise.

I personally find that you need above 90dB sensitivity when you use less than 50W to put out enough power to enjoy. For example, my Aiyima A07 + JBL 530's with similar sensitivity to the KEF R3's sound pretty underwhelming, but the A07 does great with my much more sensitive JBL S38ii's.

From @amirm on the Kef R3 review:
Impedance dips to 3 ohms which is quite low, emphasizing the point I made earlier about needing a good amplifier to drive these speakers:

I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I hope this helps.

i dont have speakers stand and no other place to put speakers..

terminals are tight!
i personally inspected them several times i checked them for speakers and amps as well..

70RMS mean way way less not sure how much for my car 400w rms means less than 40w for example... not sure how its measured.

RMS is fake WATTAGE.

It is NOT a power issue. Are the link knobs twisted correctly on the speakers?

How much real wattage my receiver can make then at 8ohm since you provided data for 6ohm ? if it makes 40w at 6ohm it should be less in 8 ohm i guess? I verified links and knobs are pressed correctly... if knobs are not pressed in the right way Speaker doesnt sound at all or it sounds only bass i tried that as well.

It seems like the reciever is faulty. 40 years is long for most power supplies.

Can you burrow an amplifier from someone to check? Even an old school 2000s CD player would work.

Also, looks like you have a subwoofer enabled. If you don’t have one, disable it:

Also go though all the DSP settings, make sure the front speakers are set to large, and the rest are disabled.
