My understanding was that while Class D can have a low output impedance very few Class D amps are stable into sub 2-ohm loads
This is my understanding, as they were originally designed for automobile use, and driving 2 ohm car speakers. In fact, lots of factory automobile sound systems are setup just like this. Home consumer class d amps that aren't 2ohm stable, is most likely a limit imposed by power supply design.
