We have a pair of blackbirds who love grapes and raisins. Trouble is, they've fed their broods on them and this year, 'Mr B' stopped feeding a pair of his offspring, so they come to the back door asking for them - and squabble noisily over the bits we break up and throw out! To make it worse, their parents often appear asking for raisins (or maybe a grape) for themselves to feed the next batch of chicks. The parents have been around for a few years now - pretty sure it's the same couple - and we try to feed them all year round, so they nest nearby in a couple of long established sites, bless 'em.
My soul brother feline (long passed sadly) used to love ice cream on a finger or three that he could lick off. That and cheese, ham (eternal favourite was ham as he wasn't a 'fishy' puss) and also slivers of cooked mushrooms (can't remember how he discovered that one). In thanks, he'd hunt in the early hours and bring little mousy 'presents' to share with us and leave them on the door-step...
