Harmonic distortion is anyway unfortunately not a great metric to correlate with audibility, would be more interesting to compare the intermodulation distortion of both where the 2-way KH80 would be also superior, see also
With these kind of distortion figures, IMD will be bad as well.

Then again, I would be a fan of having multitone measurements for speakers (and headphones). I think Amir tried that once and found too many issues with the comparably of the measurements. I’d say: give them anyway ;)

Even for decent 3-way mid it's too small and heavy (= inefficient) at the same time.
I'd prefer something else. Even proper Seas Prestige will perform better.
Maybe not the most suitable either (midrange in three-way solution) but IF you had to do something with that driver? But as you say, there are others.:)

With that said, I'm not an experienced DIY but someone who SHOULD be is Danny! He is a professional.Professional, that he makes money on his speakers and the crossover upgrade he sells.

Also seen in the light of what Amir wrote:
"...fully finished pair ($ 1,038)"

It's a rip off!

Yes, although even worse compared to a multiway speaker where the other drivers are not affected by the modulation of the woofer.

Fully agree :)

It’s a 3-inch driver, the smallest that Amir has ever measured.
The Fostex he had tested though is also 3 inch, active and costs a fraction.

Really? What bones?;)

But distortion on these is also bad. Seems to be a lot less audible though.
Yes, probably less IMD. ;)
Fracture should be fraction of course, too few sleep last night.

There isn't a chance the 90db sweeps damaged the driver?
No. I run my distortion tests before the NFS scan. If the driver was damaged the spin would not look as good as it did.

he and others think my reviews are a joke
Wow... what a complete asshat.

The only joke here is this kit speaker... is it a cruel joke on customers?
Not only do these drivers sound better than the previous generation but also even measure better.

Max peak power full range: 30 watts.
Max peak power with first two octaves removed: 60 watts.

Well, this thing is actually a typical B-category DIY in a nutshell:facepalm:
I bet that a pair or 65mm Tectonic BMRs put in almost any junk box will sound overall better due to bass that part of it they can reproduce handling abilities

While this is a great review by Amir, and a great service to the society, I don't think anything will change sustainably, sadly. He will either ignore this, or dismiss the results as inaccurate/the methodologies are faulty/we can hear things that are not in measurements etc., and hist followers/believers will believe what he said.

Sometimes it's sad to be reminded about the world we live in, but well,
