This is the best they have sad.
It is sad. These little flimsy things are pathetic when compared with Denon's offerings in the heyday of analog. And they are asking a Grover Cleveland for it. I don't know whether to laugh or cry... or go have a stiff drink.

In the waning days of analog, Japanese makers all had a 'statement' model. Technics made the SP-10 Mk3 with various EPA tonearms. Kenwood sold their L07d. Micro had the belt drive thing down. IMO, the Denon was the most impressive. I think someone here on ASR has the armless model.

If the new prospective owner of Denon, Mr. Pulse Oximetry, wants to be recognized as a serious ride or die player, the first thing he'll do is resurrect the DP-100M. But my guess is that he's more interested in selling mid-tier AVRs. To a bean counter trying to actually make money, that probably makes more sense.

I pity anyone who has to move one of those things.

Yes! My wife's 1st question when I had it out of the box and on the shelf, "What, no white gloves?"

I never loved the white acrylic plinth of my Marantz TT-15 S1, so I made a plinth for it out of African Padauk.
Very classy look.
The dustcover is clever too. Did it come with the player or is it another DIY?

Hi guys, perhaps you would like to have a look- this is my latest build in for a client of mine, who also has my active speakers. Custom made cupboard for Sony PS-X555ES, btw i love the turntable. The cupboard has two levels of elastomer based vibration dampening, custom 3D printed feet with elastic absorbers and a plate that sits on four japanese elastromer absorbers. You can jump next to the turntable as you like :)

I had a few (old and new, cheap and expensive) turntables in my life, but nothing beats Technics for me. This is my actual one, a mint full original 1976's Technic SL1500 with an AT VM95EN cell. And the foolish money some spend on turntables that are worse i can spend on vinyl records ;)
