Topping L50 Review (Headphone Amp)

So my Topping E50 / L50 stack just showed up. This is probably a silly question, but I've never shopped for such a thing before- can you get a 3 or 4 foot extension cable for the AC transformer? At the moment I can barely get to my power strip and don't have much room to rearrange my desktop.

I'd assume yes. It will depend on the regulations in area/country. Here is what I used Power Lead. It was hidden behind a small table so color or the fact that it had LED / Neon lights was not an issue.

A50s actually has a 4.4mm output. As for its balanced and unbalanced outputs, listening to my Sundaras it is definitely not the same experience. Whether because of the noticeably higher power output, greater distortion (although that would be ridiculous given the measurements), the cable (even funnier), or something else, have no idea. Sundara probably likes power.

I’m also considering buying a50s or L30 for my hd660s which capable with 4.4 balanced cable. I do understand the balanced out doesn’t make sense except more power. So I check out the data of both two. The only difference is A50s has much better channel crosstalk (91db to 128db which even better than l50)when come to balanced out. I’m wondering if this is the reason you hear the difference? Does it make any sense?

Misunderstanding. I thought you had with the plug in transformer. Many transformers are too by for the AC power strip / wall socket.

For big planars I would rather look into Sabaj A20h, Topping A30Pro or A90.

A50s 2.5mm balanced or L30 pro high gain might 'work' but you are surely pushing it if you want some EQ headroom..

L50 (with 4V DAC) is the one to choose if you are deciding between it and A50s.

L50 max power @ 33 Ohm: 3.2 W
A30pro max power @ 50 Ohm: 3.4 W

A30pro is one of the most powerful SE headphone amps. L50 is pretty close to it.

Not here but you can assume that amp with both balanced and unbalanced input is going to have way less power when using RCA. Look into Magni Heresy (2.37 W @ 33 Ohm) if you don’t want to get 4V DAC. If you have balanced connector on your HE6se that works with A50s, then that might be good enough (2.9 W @ 50 Ohm).

You can pair with a50s and use the 4.4mm, will work perfectly with hd660s. Could have gotten a cheaper DAC though.

I have the Hifiman Anandas and plan on getting the focal elex or the dt1990. Would those can be better in bass then the Anandas. And would the sp200 would be ok with those headset

You don't really need A30Pro for any of these, so try out the SP200 (can always return it if it doesn't suit your needs?).

Ill keep the sp200 for now got it at a great price. now need a dac looking at the EX5 to use as a DAC or SU-9 . do i need xlr to power my amp of would rca be good. im using 3.5mm to rca to the sp200 and geat nosie from my pc im using the z390 master motherboard to the sp200

A DAC with XLR to SP200 should solve noise issue. Schiit Modius (maybe look used market too?) or sure, SU-9 will be good.
