Hahahahaha! I was going to post one of those pics. Anything that's endorsed by Steve "Sticky Fingers" Hoffman is obviously complete bullshit.

What a joke. And that goes for both Hoffman and that hallograph thing. :D

A friend who I visited (http://audiosciencereview.com/forum...e-aficionado-and-audiophile-john-brooks.1325/) had a pair of these:

index.php

He said they made a difference to him. I did not detect any signature of them doing anything. As Steve said earlier, these devices are too small to act like diffusers. Their effect can be measured as can the shrinking of room dimensions when you put a coat of paint on the walls. :)

That said, Davey is a good man with different audio beliefs from us. Please be polite toward him as a favor to me.

I don't care about the stick things (mark me as a non-believer). But, man, those are a sweet pair of tape decks!

Amen,
But doesn't there physical intrusion into the room mess with the Shakti's effectiveness? :)

... The Hallographs are there to absorb the mechanical noise from the tape transports, of course. There's a good reason why studio tape decks were often located in a different room than the control rooom.

The comment, the sticks, or fact that Sal just admitted he hangs out in adult toy stores? :)

Show me a man that hasn't spent a bit of time in an adult toy store,
And I'll show you a man that has no idea how to have any real fun! :p

I must live a sheltered life, I can't imagine any possible "adult toy" use for those things...

First visit to overseas family happened in the mid '70s, Germany and Austria. In the home of close family friends they happened to have one of those huge department store catalogues, inches thick, just sitting on the lounge room side table - Macy's sort of thing. Idly picked it up, flicked through it - women's fashion, mens's, kids toys, furniture, kitchen utensils, electricals, hardware, all the usuals - until the last half dozen pages ... hooley dooley!!! "Adult toys" in full glorious colours, the whole deal ...

Ummm - these Europeans were open-minded, indeed ...
