Movie soundtracks are one of my favorite genre (?) of music. Love the nice dynamics and moody tone of many. So I thought we have a dedicated thread for it here.

Much can be argued about the authenticity of the storyline but just too much great music to ignore. This was an EPIC evolution of music the likes of may never be seen again.

Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story

It wouldn't be nearly as good if John C. Reilly (above) hadn't actually performed the tunes (at least, the singing, for sure).

As Walk Hard heavily references the film Walk the Line, the Dewey Cox persona is mostly based on Johnny Cash; but the character also includes elements of the lives and careers of Roy Orbison, Glen Campbell, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Donovan, John Lennon, James Brown, Jim Morrison, Conway Twitty, Neil Diamond, andBrian Wilson. The film portrays fictional versions of artists Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Elvis Presley, and The Beatles; also, some artists play themselves, including Eddie Vedder and Ghostface Killah. In addition, the film parodies or pays tribute to the musical styles of Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Van Dyke Parks with Brian Wilson, and the seventies punk rock movement.

Indeed. The movie was lame but the Daft Punk soundtrack is excellent, both in fidelity and general enjoyment.

Enjoying the soundtrack to the movie Intouchables (Untouchables?) streamed from Tidal. Very varied content ranging from Earth Wind and Fire to melancholy piano and this catchy tune:

Have the volume past 11 and tapping my toes!

Casino
From Bach/Strauss to the Stones/Cream and just about everything in between.
Listening to the soundtrack will take you on a musical journey thru time.
The movie has taken a lot of liberties with history but cuts close enough to the truth to be very enlightening.
Joe Pesci's narration makes viewing of the film worth the time alone.

Goodfellas
Some real diamonds from the 50-60s musical era makes for a great dinner party background.
Another Scorsese flix that's a really great movie, it never grows old.
Tell's the mostly accurate tale of Henry Hill and his adventures in the New York mob.
