I wonder if this HDMI e-ARC input aceptas/plays DSD from a Sony X-800 or Sony X-800 M2. I bet it doesn't.

Actually It does on my set up. With well recorded Rock music Sound Color 4 kills the punch and kick of drums, either with DSD 64 and HiRez 96/24 and 192/24. I haven't tested it with red book resolution.

I'm afraid I don't understand this frequency chart. Maybe the first value, "DSDD" means "DSD Direct", that is the non processing DSD that's available on the configuration menu. This IS just a guess. But the rest of the values, no idea.

I have a question: on the update intructions it says to connect the SMSL DO3 to the USB port but not the input USB port. The SMSL DO3 only has one USB B port! How do I do the connection to update my DAC?

I hope this firmware update fixes one of the issues I think this DAC has. When playing DSD files/SACD's a +6 dB boost must be done by the DAC and I think this SMSL DO3 DAC applies more than +6 dB boosting whith DSD.

And How is the firmware done? Via USB?
