    My impressions from AXPONA 2024

One of the best things about AXPONA 2024, was the weather. Because usually it's cold, cloudy and either raining or snowing. Sunday was in the 70's and sunny all day. The trend of more affordable loudspeakers continues from last years show, several rooms were running Magnepan's entry level...

AXPONA 2024 - what to do and see?

I'm going to be there all three days, my list to hear start with YG Acoustic's fully active speaker's. Magnepan 2.7X's, Volti Audio, Diptque, other various planer or horn speakers. If anyone wants to meet up feel free to IM me.

Accuton Ceramic Drivers: they usually get my vote for Best of Show at AXPONA

Ever since my first AXPONA in 2013, speakers using the Accuton ceramic drivers. Some speaker brand using their drivers usually gets my vote For Best of show. That first year was Vapor Audio's, Perfect Storm speaker. Overall they just seem to have a more accurate tone, than other speaker be it...

LCH Audio woofer at FL Audio Expo with Magnepan .7's

Found this on YouTube, this was at the FLAX show. I posted this here because the woofer they were demoing, was being used with .7s. This is way above my pay grade, so some audio guru will have to chime in on the tech.I see lots of positive remarks in the comments section of the video. Ironically...

Good desktop speakers (haven't found anything I like)?

This is what I use, but with two DWM woofer panels. From the folks at Magnepan, True Ribbon tweeter, planer bass, not to mention the whole system is dipole/open baffle. Will definitely give you a different kind of sound. The system does have maximum volume limitations, and depending on musical...

AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

My Cliff Notes AXPONA report: The show seemed to definitely less vendors, much less advertising and static displays when I wandered the halls the night before the show. Some vendors were probably still burned by last years cancelling of the show and then a lot money not refunded or whatever...

AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

Not that I could tell, but it was pretty hidden too. You do know there was a second dipole LRS subwoofer. It sounded good to me, but it was in a room the size of a warehouse. They let me turn up the volume to play some Star Wars and it was really good. Now we need a shoot out between the two...

AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

Wow, I thought I thought had taken a lot pics. I guess I need a Flicker account, to show them off. To answer a poster about the LRS+ it sounded great, but as to it being better than the LRS. I have no idea, I would need a side by side to judge.

Well thanks for the correction, wonder what's up with that. Probably Covid related, no PS Audio either. FYI, I do have an appointment to hear the new LRS+ on Friday so that should be interesting.

Stereophile reviews the JBL 4367, finally

Regarding previous post's as to why I need to see a review in Stereophile, for a speaker I already own. Good point, I just like seeing how it stacks up against more expensive loudspeakers in measurement's and the reviewer's opinion. I definitely liked Erin's review better, being more focused and...

Stereophile reviews the JBL 4367, finally

Cool, I have not seen that. I have seen a few other reviews but I always wanted to see it in Stereophile. HiFi Review did one last year, thanks for the post. Do you still have your JBL M2's?

https://www.stereophile.com/content/jbl-4367-studio-monitor-loudspeaker Since these are my current main speakers since 2016, I have been waiting for this review it seems like forever. I am curios why now, maybe Amir or someone can use their contacts at Harmon to find out.

AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

I would guess this show is like 95% stereo, probably a dozen rooms are for home theatre and surround sound. Seaton Sound, Polk, Emotiva, SVS, HSU to name a few. It's the biggest stereo show in this North America for sure.

AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

I too love Labriola, with it's caramelized crust definitely on my favorite list. The last time Amir attended AXPONA, we went to Lou Malnati's after a longggg wait, we ordered two small pizzas with different toppings. One was fair tasting the other horrible, I have been to a different location...

No repackaging I do believe, original recordings done differently. Now if it is better has yet to be determined.
